In the early morning of May 9th at approximately 1 am., a vehicle veered off of the Northbound Frontage road of I-10 near the De Zavala Intersection, impacting into a drainage culvert in front of Freedom Chevrolet.

At least six SAFD units were present along with at least 7 police cars. Police blockaded the northbound frontage road from De Zavala to UTSA blvd. A statement was unable to be obtained from SAPD at the time, but they did say that it was an active crime scene.

A witness, who wished not to be identified, recounted that after veering off the road, the vehicle also struck someone who was in the ditch at the time. The man said the person who was struck was taken away by ambulance. No word on the condition of any of those involved.
