About Jade:

Jade Esteban Estrada is a San Antonio-based journalist, photographer, radio host, college lecturer and political commentator. 

A graduate of the American Musical and Dramatic Academy, Estrada began his journalism career in New York where he covered human interest stories in Lower Manhattan for The Villager and the Downtown Express. His reviews and interviews have appeared in the San Diego Update, the Church Street Freedom Press, Trans Texas Monthly, Off-Off Broadway Review and New York Cool. 

In 2008, Estrada was the host of the 19th Annual South Florida GLAAD Media Awards on Bravo. In 2010, he was invited to The White House to attend the State Arrival Ceremony welcoming President of Mexico Felipe Calderón and his wife Margarita Zavala. 

In 2011, Estrada began writing his weekly column, Glitter Political, which was originally published by the online news site, Plaza de Armas. In 2013, his column was picked up by the San Antonio Current

As a guest speaker, Estrada has shared his career experiences on the college and conference circuit. In 2001, he was invited to deliver the keynote address at the OutFront Minnesota State Conference in Brainerd, Minnesota. In 2002, he was the grand marshal for the San Antonio Pride Parade. In 2005, he presented From Latin Pop Performer to Gay Icon at Princeton University. In 2007, he was the guest speaker for the Latino History Month Panel Discussion at MTV Networks. In 2010, he presented Assimilation and the 21st Century Latino at Colorado State University. The following year, he presented The Politics of Being Gay and Latino in America at Blue Mountain Community College in Pendleton, Oregon. 

In 2012, he was a panelist for How the Media Shapes, Influences or Explains Latino Identity at the 9th Annual Center for Mexican American Studies and Research Conference at Our Lady of the Lake University. And, in 2016, Estrada presented his lecture, The Art of Storytelling, at the Metropolitan Community Church General Conference XXVI in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.

A familiar voice on KTSA 550, Estrada hosts The Saturday Night Super Show with Roman Garcia and is a frequent guest on The Jack Riccardi Show.

He currently writes for the San Antonio Current, Out in SA and the San Antonio Sentinel
