Tuesday night in a nondescript office building on the Northwest side of San Antonio, two high definition cameras pointed towards former councilman Greg Brockhouse and his co-host Saulo Alonso Rodriguez. Studio lights illuminated the small foyer space of Brockhouse’s office where the political webcast known as the BrockCast streams to all reaches of the internet.

“We’re back to save you from what was obviously two hours of boring democratic presidential debates,” says Brockhouse as he and Rodriguez begin the evening’s show. The pair make a formidable duo of political commentary and toe the line between straight up serious political discussions and lightheartedly joking banter.

With over 10,000 followers on Facebook and 1.3 K views on Tuesday’s BrockCast alone, it appears evident that there is a desire for media that caters to the 48.89% of San Antonio who disapproves of the city council’s current trajectory. “I think that the most important reason we started doing it is because throughout the mayoral campaign I recognized how much people don’t know about what’s going on in city hall,” said Brockhouse, describing his motivation for creating the BrockCast.
